The Why Pink Story
Trevor and Amy Goodwin, co-founders of Goodwin Photography, have a passion for photography. Over the years, Trevor and Amy, along with their two children, Anthony and Kayla, have been committed to finding more ways to help others. While at the Country Club Plaza in Kansas City, Trevor took a picture of pink tulips near one of the fountains. Trevor’s vision of the picture was leaving the pink tulips in color, while changing the rest of the photo to black and white.
With that picture in 2008, Why Pink was born. Why Pink is a Breast Health Awareness campaign that uses photography to capture memories, while supporting breast health charities. . Over the last two years Why Pink has raised nearly $10,000 for breast health charities through events, silent auctions & raffles and their signature portrait sessions. Why Pinks largest event is the annual fashion show at one of the metro areas largest shopping parties, Haute Market.
The commitment the Goodwin family has shown in the Why Pink campaign highlights the enthusiasm and involvement they have for helping others and the community. This is their reason for supporting such a great cause…what’s yours?

Schedule your Why Pink 2010 Portrait Session Now!!!

Share your story, share your strength, share your support... share your hope.
Our portrait sessions are the backbone of our Why Pink Fundraising and Awareness Campaign. These sessions will generate funds for the Greater Kansas City Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. A portion of the cost of each session will go directly to the charity and can be claimed on your taxes as a charitable contribution. Everyone has a reason to support such a deserving cause, what’s yours?
The goal of each portrait session is to capture the essence of your support. One of the portraits from your session will be selected for Why Pink special editing. We ask that you wear or bring something pink to incorporate in your photograph. The pink item will remain in color; the rest of the photograph will be black & white. We will set up a website where photographs will be available for order. Prints may be ordered any time after your session and Why Pink edited photographs will be available to order until the end of October. A portion of the proceeds from each print ordered will be donated to the Greater Kansas City Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
