Trevor Goodwin of Goodwin Photography

Trevor Goodwin has been taking photographs for over ten years. He began photography through a class that he took in college. With the advent of digital photography, his interest grew even deeper. The passion of photography allows Trevor to tell a story through the photos he takes (photojournalistic style). If you don’t have to ask questions when looking at the picture, he has accomplished his goal of capturing the moment, emotions and memories tied to the moment. To accomplish this, Trevor always keeps the camera ready so that he doesn’t miss a candid moment, where the subjects are relaxed and being themselves. How does Trevor make a session relaxing and comfortable? He likes to talk with his customers…ask them questions, find out what hobbies they have, and talk about family. This helps Trevor understand the customer(s) allowing him to customize the photos to fit their personalities. When asking what the most enjoyable part of being a photographer is, Trevor replied, “I love the customer’s reaction to my images. So everything I do is leading up to that reaction.” Trevor uses his creativity, such as changing the angles of the camera to get great pictures (having a tremendous reaction).

Trevor also uses his creativity beyond the photo shoot itself. The idea of Why Pink came to him while he was at the Country Club Plaza and pink tulips were in bloom. The idea developed through Trevor’s vision of capturing the flowers in color and the rest in black and white. Trevor’s motivation to further develop the Why Pink campaign is, “I really like to help out as much as I can. I get to do what I love photography and help women in need. It’s a double bonus.”
